Agam Roa, MD, Medical Officer with Poxvirus of the Center for Disease Control stated that although “Cases have declined, a resurgence is possible”. This is so for two reasons: 1) low rates of Mpox vaccinations across the county. 2) warmer temperatures lead to less clothing, thus less protection from a skin-to-skin transmitted infection like MPox.
The good news is we haven’t had a new confirmed case of MPox in the state of Minnesota since November 2022. Between March and November 2022, the MN Department of Health confirmed 234 cases of MPox in the state.
To keep this stalemate in place those who were told to wait, you need a booster should do so as soon as possible. Here’s your next opporunity
